i think this is a good line... mainly because
it has a great sense of truth to it. perhaps its
because as the older you get, the more you realize
how trivial certain things are. sure, its
important to distinguish a 'proper' age for dating
when you are 15 or so...

but to answer your Q, hayley... in my own opinion,
i think that age doesn't really matter... as
long as the individuals within that relationship
are aware of the differences in age (similar
to a scenario of dating within a language
barrier). you have to be knowledgable of all the
differences... and be willing to face them...
and to be able to understand when certain
differences are best to walk away from.

if a person is in their teens... i suggest not
dating any higher than 3 years difference.

the twenties is more difficult.... because i
think there is alot of unnecessary discrepencies
for that age bracket....

26 and 36... not such a big deal...more life experience to draw on...

There is 11 years difference between my parents.

I think 25+ its not too bad to date someone 10 years older, but below that is a too big gap. But i AM only 18 (nearly 19, in a few weeks ) and thats why i asked your your opinions as you's are older than that.

my parents had the typical (and socially expected)
gap of 1-2 years, my father being the elder.

i agree that 25 is a good age for society to
ease up on the tension in age gaps....
